In celebrating Black History Month, Commonwealth Credit Union is honored to shine a spotlight on one of our outstanding team members, James Williams III. With an impressive 21 years of dedicated service, James has become an essential part of our organization, contributing significantly to our success.

James's career journey within the credit union has been a diverse one. Having served in various roles ranging from facilities to the contact center, he has gained insights into the inner workings of the organization. This diverse experience has equipped him with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in his current position as a Mortgage Loan Originator II.

James believes his proudest accomplishment is his success in his current role. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, he has found his niche within the mortgage department. His passion for delivering an excellent member experience played a part in his recent promotion to Mortgage Loan Originator II, showcasing his dedication and commitment to both his role and the credit union.

Outside of his professional life, James is deeply involved in community initiatives, particularly in mentoring at-risk youth through programs like Sunrise Services. His commitment to giving back reflects his belief in the importance of supporting the community.

James believes that his role at Commonwealth Credit Union aligns perfectly with making a positive impact. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, he is directly involved in helping members navigate the complexities of home buying, a significant and often stressful milestone. His dedication to building relationships and guiding members through the loan process not only fosters trust but also ensures a positive experience during a significant life event.

Reflecting on Black History Month, James remarks, "Personally, it means the shortest month of the year because you can't confine black history to one month." His statement underlines the ongoing need for recognizing and celebrating diversity throughout the year.
