Branch Manager at the Georgetown Branch

We have a career opportunity available for a Branch Manager, at the Georgetown Branch. We are looking for a self-disciplined, highly motivated professional, who is proactive and will partner with employees and leadership. This individual must possess integrity, credibility, and a commitment to Commonwealth Credit Union’s Team 1 mission. Must be willing to take an active and hands-on approach in the specific areas of the Branch, including but not limited to, compliance, staff development, and team leadership.  Must be analytical, organized, and have the ability to problem solve in a fast-paced and multifunctional environment, while maintaining a passion for serving. Must represent the Credit Union in a professional manner, through image, communication, and knowledge.

General Function:

Responsible for the oversight and day–to-day management of a small branch office (less than 10 employees), which includes the Transaction Center and Member Service areas. Ensures that each area of responsibility, including member service lending activities, are operating within established policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal Laws. Ensures adequate safeguards and controls are in place to protect Credit Union funds, assets, and confidentiality of information. Establishes and monitors goals and programs to meet overall Credit Union objectives. Establishes and encourages a cross-selling environment, training staff in the features and benefits of Credit Union products. Reports any concerns or problems with the facility or matters interfering with the safe operation of any area under their responsibility.

This position may require the individual to provide members with detailed information regarding Home Equity and Mortgage loans. Therefore, the individual may need to become registered in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a credit union supervisory/management position or equivalent position in a financial institution
  • CCUE or CUMI graduate preferred
  • Advance knowledge of credit union operations, laws, and regulations
  • Eligible for license to become an agent for limited line credit
  • Must be bondable, successfully pass required background screenings and must be able to obtain/maintain required certifications/licenses applicable to position
  • Must annually attend the necessary training, pass examinations, and maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Policy

Business Intelligence Analyst

We have a career opportunity available for a Business Intelligence Analyst in the Finance Department in our High Street Office in Frankfort, KY. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented professional. This individual must be proficient in research and data collection and have strong analytical skills. Must have excellent communication skills, and be able to work in a multifunctional, team environment. It is essential that this individual represent the Credit Union in a professional manner, through image, communication, and knowledge.

Education / Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Between three and five years of experience in marketing research in, or working with, the financial services industry in an analyst capacity. Experience in related fields such as computer programming and sales a plus, but not necessary. Proficiency in marketing database, mapping, and analytical software.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skill set; excellent project management and relationship management skills; strong understanding of financial products and services.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) or related marketing database and MapInfo Professional or related mapping software; knowledge of Power Point is a plus; knowledge of desktop publishing/presentation display a plus.
  • Above average writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with members, senior management, and associates.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and staff; ability to multi-task under pressure; being a team player that is considerate to other employees; interest in and ability to mentor junior staff in their professional development.
  • Ability to travel to make presentations on credit union’s behalf, travel to other offices, and the ability to work flexible hours.

Essential Job Specific Competencies

  • Conducts on an as needed basis, competitive interest rate surveys, market trend analyses, and produces reports and documentation of findings; develops statistical reports on marketing promotions, including, but not limited to, variance and break-even analyses; perform site and market analysis—analyze bank competitors (deposit share/locations) in trade areas where existing/proposed branches are located; makes presentations as required to the Board, Senior Managers and other key areas/managers/teams.
  • Perform statistical analyses for summarization of data, trends projections, and determining soundness and significance of differences.
  • Leads in the development of strategic action plans for both short- and long-term corporate initiatives and provides written and verbal recommendations based on research/analysis; coordinates market research projects on a regular basis.
  • Identifies, develops, and interprets standard and custom reports via MCIF for senior management team and other committees/departments; utilizes software for target marketing/analysis. Import, synthesize and interpret monthly branch operations sales data from multiple data sources. Create and maintain raw data files for monthly incentive, cross sell, and participation tracking reports. Develop and implement specific audience targets for existing member and prospect direct mail campaigns. Visualize member-relationships between data and geography and perform detailed analysis for decision-making. Create maps and statistical profiles between data and geography.
  • Collects and maintains relevant secondary research. Reviews and reports findings that may enhance/affect Commonwealth Credit Union corporate initiatives.
  • Manages the fulfillment of distribution-list requests from the MCIF and other third-party vendors, including Investor Services & Insurance Services and prospect list brokers. Responsible for ensuring the breadth, depth, and accuracy of data the MCIF collects by working with applicable departments and third-party marketing partners.
  • Remains active in credit union training programs. Complete the position’s present curriculum as outlined by completing the following – credit union annual required compliance training and the supplemental courses listed within the prescribed time. Follows policy and procedure daily to ensure compliant with current regulations. Completes all other tasks, assignments or functions as assigned.

Typical work schedule will be 8-4pm Monday-Friday however flexibility is a must and schedule may vary based on business needs.

Underwriter Specialist I (Afterhours)

We have a career opportunity available for an Underwriter Specialist I (Afterhours) in the Underwriting Area at our Louisville Road Office location. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented, professional to join our team. This individual must be dependable, have excellent analytical skills, and be able to be decisive in a fast paced environment. It is essential that this individual represent the Credit Union internally and with our Dealer Partners in a professional manner, through image, communication, and knowledge. This is primarily a work from home position, with some office hours required. Schedule to be determined, however Saturday’s and some federal holidays will be mandatory based on business needs of the organization.

General Function:

Specializes in Indirect Lending and risk analysis. Is responsible for making prudent credit decisions within established approval/exception guidelines, in compliance with all state and federal regulations, and in adherence to all CCU practices, policies, and procedures. Analyzes information received from credit applications and credit reporting agencies to make prudent credit decisions. Must be able to work after hours, weekends, and some federal holidays. Must be possess the skills necessary to work from home and meet the requirements of a work from home agent. Some in office hours are required.

Partners with the Indirect Lending Department to establish, maintain, and enhance dealer relationships. Negotiates terms and conditions of loan decisions with dealers within established approval/exception guidelines, leveraging risk versus reward, to ensure credit quality and profitability. Makes exceptions to normal guidelines when necessary.

This position requires the ability to be decisive in a fast paced, highly motivated environment. Building and maintaining relationships through collaboration and a team oriented approach, with an emphasis on the organization. Performs with minimal guidance and demonstrates superior communication and leadership skills. Completes other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of two years of previous underwriting experience. Previous Indirect Underwriting experience preferred.
  • Must be bondable, successfully pass required back ground screenings, and must be able to obtain/maintain required certifications/licenses applicable to position including NMLS certification.
  • Must annually attend the necessary training, pass examinations, and maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) policy.

Essential Job Specific Competencies

  • Review credit report information to determine risk for bankruptcy or non-payment by applying knowledge of standard underwriting procedures and risk analysis.
  • Approve, deny, or refer the loan for further review.
  • Structures loan to ensure the payment amount and loan amount are affordable for the member(s).
  • Detail stipulations of loan approval or counter as well as information that supports the loan decision or referral of the loan application to someone with higher underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure ratios are accurately calculated and reviews loan application information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of profitability, delinquency, charge off, and repossessions in line with credit union goals.
  • Must comply with Commonwealth Credit Union’s policies and guidelines of risk based loan underwriting, products, processes, procedures, and regulations and relevant governmental laws.
  • Effectively recognizes opportunities to cross-sell during the underwriting process and notes the pre-approval in the loan application.
  • Ensure confidential treatment of the member(s) financial information.

This position is primarily work from home with some office hours required, mainly after hours. Includes Saturday’s and some federal holidays based on business needs.

General Function:

Our Part-Time Teller positions require individuals to accurately perform financial transactions affecting the accounts or loans of Credit Union members, in accordance with established policies, procedures and applicable laws. These individuals must also represent the Credit Union in a professional manner by maintaining acceptable cash/negotiable balancing standards, following internal controls to safeguard Credit Union funds and assets, consistently maintaining cross selling standards, organizing work, and maintaining accurate records.

We have an opportunity available for 2 full-time Contact Center Representatives, at the Louisville Road office. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and sales-oriented professionals to join our team. General Function:

Handles inbound and outbound communications, providing informed responses to member and potential member questions. Offers additional assistance as required. Accurately performs loan and account functions in accordance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Organizes work to ensure accuracy and proper record keeping practices maintain consistent cross-selling standards, and researches and resolves member account problems. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintains an emphasis on service, quality, and accuracy. Works on special projects and other team-specific duties as assigned.
