Annual Meeting
January 19, 2012
The 2012 Annual Meeting of Commonwealth Credit Union will be held Thursday, January 19,
at 6:15 p.m. at the State Office Building on Clinton Street.
The nominating committee has nominated the following members for the three vacancies on the Board of Directors:

According to Credit Union bylaws, nominations will not be allowed from the floor. State law only allows individuals with accounts in their own name to cast a vote, which means only “primary” Commonwealth CU account holders will be allowed to vote. Joint members will not be allowed to vote.
Must be 18 years old or older to vote.
Doors will close promptly at 6:15 and there will be no admittance after that time.
No absentee ballots will be accepted.

Bob Bender is retired from the State of Kentucky after serving 36 years with the Department of Parks. Mr. Bender is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He has been involved as a volunteer for Commonwealth Credit Union since 1974, first serving on the Credit Committee for 12 years with his remaining service on the Board of Directors. In his spare time, Mr. Bender enjoys running and supporting the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Jim Chadwell has been a Board member of Commonwealth Credit Union for 19 years and Supervisory Committee Chairman for three years. He has served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board for 16 years. Mr. Chadwell received the Raiffeisen Volunteer Achievement Award from the Credit Union National Association. Jim is a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and he earned a B.S. in Math from Eastern Kentucky University, a B.S. in Accountancy from Central Florida University and an M.B.A. from University of Louisville. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1978. Mr. Chadwell is retired after working 30 years as an auditor with the State Auditor’s Office and the Comptroller of the Teacher’s Retirement System. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Franklin County Extension Office and is President of the Board for the Children’s Alliance (The Sunshine Center). Jim is married to Cecie and has three grown children who are out of the nest! He recently achieved “Master Gardener” designation from the Extension Service. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, sports, reading and travelling.

Mary Foster received her B.A. from University of Kentucky and her Masters from Georgetown College. She began in the education field by teaching special needs students and struggling readers in Frankfort and Lexington. She served 20 years as Director of Technology for Franklin County Public Schools. Mary has two daughters, two sons, one stepson, one stepdaughter, three grandsons, three step-granddaughters and three step-grandsons spread out from the west coast, through Ohio, and then to Germany. In her spare time she loves to travel. Her family gives her good opportunities to do so. She has served on Commonwealth Credit Union’s Board of Directors since 1988.

Andy Franklin served honorably in the U.S. Army for nine years and he has earned both a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Kentucky State University. Mr. Franklin is currently employed at Kentucky Retirement Systems, where he serves as a Database Developer and the Administrator of Dynamics GP (Accounting Software). Andy is married to his wife of 15 years, Christy, and has two young children, Matthew and Daniel. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and tinkering with his classic cars.

Richard Warren retired from Commonwealth CU in February 2011 after spending 12 years as Vice President of Lending. Richard has worked in the credit union industry for over 40 years. Prior to coming to Commonwealth CU, Richard worked at Spokane Railway Federal Credit Union in Washington, Texans Credit Union, and ¬University Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas, where he was Vice President of Operations and oversaw all branch operations, as well as lending, mortgages and collections activities. He and his wife, Iva, have been married for 28 years and live in Lawrenceburg. They have four children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Richard also enjoys playing golf, is a member of Gideons International and attends Sand Springs Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg.
