Savings Bonds

I-Bonds and Series EE Bonds, issued by the U.S. Government, can be purchased and redeemed at Commonwealth CU. Series E Bonds can also be redeemed at Commonwealth CU. Bonds are issued in amounts from $50 to $10,000. Purchase price is face value for I-Bonds and half the face value for Series EE Bonds.

The U.S. Treasury has also recently issued Patriot Bonds. Similar to EE Bonds, Patriot Bonds are market-based. With our country at war, Savings Bonds remain the lowest cost method toward financing the U.S. Government war debt. For more information on Patriot Bonds, stop by any Commonwealth CU branch.
