International Funds Conversion Exchange Rate
There is a 1% International Service Assessment fee charged by Visa when converting foreign currency to U.S. funds. This means that when you use your Visa card in a foreign country, the amount of purchase will be converted to U.S. funds, plus an additional 1% fee. This foreign exchange conversion fee is imposed by Visa and is NOT a Commonwealth Credit Union fee. NOTE: Most bank card issuers are taking advantage of a provision that allows them to charge a fee up to 4%, with 1% going to Visa and the financial institution keeping the additional 3% as profit. Commonwealth Credit Union is NOT doing this.
