Chief Financial Officer

Commonwealth Credit Union (Frankfort, KY) has an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned financial executive to join our team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Opened in 1951 with 122 shareholders, our state chartered not-for-profit financial institution now serves the needs of more than 84,000 members across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Since 1975, assets have grown from $2.8 million to $984 million. What started as one location has now expanded to 8 different branches and a plethora of online and mobile services.

The CFO position will report directly to the president/CEO and will work collaboratively as a member of the senior leadership team and ALCO Committee. Responsibilities include strategic planning, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, ALM, investments, product pricing, financial planning and treasury management. The CFO will have direct responsibility for all administrative, support operations and coordination of activities for the Finance and Accounting areas. The CFO will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors, management and regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and with State and Federal rules and guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess great leadership skills, a business degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or other Business concentration, or equivalent experience and four or more year’s background in managing and supervising multi-functional departments in a financial arena. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and extensive background in the credit union industry are preferred.

Assistant Vice President of Lending

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Vice President of Lending! This full-time position will report directly to the Vice President of Lending and will provide direction and management to the Lending and Indirect Lending areas. Qualified applicants must have a business degree or equivalent work experience. They must also have five or more years in a similar positon and experience in supervising directly, or indirectly, at least 20 employees.

Other uties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising the operation of the Lending and Indirect Lending departments, monitoring the delivery of quality service to members and looking for ways to increase usage of the Credit Union’s products and services.
  • Establishing and cultivating a sales culture within the Lending and Indirect Lending departments, monitoring results and working directly with managers and supervisors to meet or exceed expected sales performance.
  • Monitoring staff and supervisors’ abilities to recognize and meet member needs and providing additional training to enhance skills and effectiveness when necessary.
  • Serving as a communication link between Lending, Indirect Lending, and other Credit Union departments, ensuring a positive and supportive relationship is maintained.
  • Implementing policies, procedures, and rules in an appropriate manner.
  • Communicating effectively with members and staff at all levels, encouraging open communication and the sharing of ideas between all staff and departments.
  • Leading or participating in special projects and/or committees assigned by Senior Management, reporting results in a timely manner.
  • Working with regulatory agencies, internal and external auditors, and internal staff to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and safety and soundness issues.
  • Developing staff by providing support, training, coaching, and timely feedback.
  • Acting as a positive role model in communication, ethics, teamwork, and service.
  • Continually looking for ways to improve department results, developing and implementing procedures to ensure efficiency and overall effectiveness.

Member Solutions Specialist

Commonwealth Credit Union has a full-time position available for a Member Solutions Specialist in the Member Solutions Department at our Louisville Road office in Frankfort Kentucky. We are looking for a motivated individual. Candidate must be familiar with Member Solutions area. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated and demonstrate support of the credit union team movement in a sales and service cultured environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prefer 1 year of collection experience
  • Familiar with collection regulations/laws
  • Effectively works collection accounts, maintaining accurate documentation
  • Demonstrates effective techniques in skip-tracing
