Chief Financial Officer

Commonwealth Credit Union (Frankfort, KY) has an exciting new opportunity for a seasoned financial executive to join our team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Opened in 1951 with 122 shareholders, our state chartered not-for-profit financial institution now serves the needs of more than 84,000 members across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Since 1975, assets have grown from $2.8 million to $984 million. What started as one location has now expanded to 8 different branches and a plethora of online and mobile services.

The CFO position will report directly to the president/CEO and will work collaboratively as a member of the senior leadership team and ALCO Committee. Responsibilities include strategic planning, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory compliance, ALM, investments, product pricing, financial planning and treasury management. The CFO will have direct responsibility for all administrative, support operations and coordination of activities for the Finance and Accounting areas. The CFO will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting to the Board of Directors, management and regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and with State and Federal rules and guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess great leadership skills, a business degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or other Business concentration, or equivalent experience and four or more year’s background in managing and supervising multi-functional departments in a financial arena. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and extensive background in the credit union industry are preferred.

Member Solutions Clerk

Commonwealth Credit Union has a full-time position available for Member Solutions Clerk in the Member Solutions Department at one of their Frankfort Kentucky offices, located on Louisville Road in Frankfort. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated and demonstrate support of the credit union movement in a sales and service cultured environment. In addition to handling others with courtesy, tact and respect, must be professional, organized and knowledgeable about the Credit Union’s products and services.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answer incoming calls to the Member Solutions area in a professional manner
  • Provide the necessary information to members as needed in a professional manner at all times
  • Provide support for other Member Solutions staff members as needed
  • Provide information to the legal department as needed
  • Provide assistance to staff with Repossession Requests
  • Handle incoming requests and processing payments for credit counseling account
  • Follow up on charged-off share accounts

Part-time Teller in our Hamburg Branch

Commonwealth Credit union has a Part-time Teller position available in the Hamburg Branch office in Lexington Kentucky. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, service-oriented individual to join our multi service cultured environment and team.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Accurately perform financial transactions on member accounts or loans
  • Balance cash and negotiable instruments each business day
  • Follow internal controls established to safeguard credit union funds and assets
  • Work in a fast paced environment, with the ability to focus on quality and accuracy
  • Provide informed responses to questions and additional information as required to properly answer inquiries
  • Obtain appropriate documentation and information to complete requests
  • Possess the ability to respond in a professional and pleasant manner when problems or concerns are expressed
  • Greet incoming and waiting members in a friendly and professional manner
  • Demonstrate initiative in gaining knowledge of credit union products, services, and software systems
  • Cross sell credit union products and services that will benefit members
  • Communicate effectively, properly identifying, greeting, addressing by name at least three times during each transaction, and repeating the transaction back
  • Work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be flexible in hours worked
  • Required to work on Saturdays
  • Required to work at any branch location as needed
  • Present the Credit Union in a professional manner
  • Volunteer to work at community events as needed
