Branch Manager

Commonwealth Credit Union, one of the State’s largest financial institutions, has a full-time position available for a Branch Manager in the new Louisville, Kentucky Branch office coming soon, to the St. Matthews area. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated and demonstrate support of the credit union movement in a sales and service cultured environment.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit union branch operations and equivalent management level financial institution experience.
  • Advance knowledge of credit union operations, laws, and regulations
  • College degree preferred.
  • Must be eligible to be licensed to sell insurance.
  • Must have exemplary leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other management staff to develop and cultivate relationships that are conducive to a cohesive team.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the oversight and day to day management of the branch office.
  • Assists and provides support in the research and implementation of new products and services.
  • Assures adequate safeguards and controls are in place and followed to protect credit union assets, confidentiality of information, and reporting any deficiencies or concerns.
  • Provides direct supervision to all branch staff providing guidance, coaching, performance feedback, and setting performance goals.
  • Monitors and maintains a high level of service quality in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Establishes and encourages a sales and service environment, training staff in the features and benefits of credit union products through cross-selling.
  • Supervises the operation of the branch office and monitors the provision of quality service to members and looks for ways to increase efficiency within the branch.
  • Enforces and insures that the policies and procedures governing the operations of the credit union offices as determined by the Board of Directors and/or President, the bylaws, statutes, and state and federal rulings.
  • Meet with outside business partners to develop future member growth.
  • Works with outside vendors, assists in negotiating outside contracts as applicable.
  • Hire, train, direct, and evaluate employee performance within the department; recommend promotions, transfers and salary adjustments; identify performance problems and takes appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Mortgage Loan Originator

Commonwealth Credit Union, one of the State’s largest financial institutions, has a full-time position available for a Mortgage Loan Originator in the new Louisville, Kentucky Branch office coming soon, to the St. Matthews area. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated and demonstrate support of the credit union movement in a sales and service cultured environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering incoming phone line
  • Inputting mortgage loan applications
  • Processing conventional, FHA/VA/KHC Mortgage files
  • Requesting mortgage appraisals
  • Request credit bureau reports
  • Prepare lien and loan documents relating to loan closings
  • Type letters and other correspondence
  • Answer questions and resolve problems relating to mortgage loan files
  • Interview prospective loan applicants
  • Interact with Realtors on new purchase transactions
  • Coordinate loan closings with the closing attorney
  • Solicit new mortgage business and build referral network

Necessary skills:

  • Two years mortgage origination experience required
  • Computer knowledge/PC experience in Word, Excel, and other software programs required
  • Strong communicator/Aggressive in completing tasks and learning
  • Personable/Professional and helpful/People-oriented/Dependable Accurate and efficient while working in a fast-paced environment

Part-time Teller Positions

Commonwealth Credit Union has several part-time Teller positions available in the Frankfort, Lexington, Georgetown and Lawrenceburg Branch Offices. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, service-oriented individuals to join our team! Duties include but are not limited to: provide top quality service to our members and accurately perform financial transactions on their accounts/loans, effectively meet our member’s needs by cross selling credit union products and services, work in a fast-paced environment and maintain quality and accuracy in daily functions, represent the credit union in a professional and positive manner, work well with others in a team environment.

Part time associates are scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week and Saturday hours are required. Candidates must be flexible in their schedules and may be asked to work at other branch locations as needed.
